This is the first commission piece that I have completed. I have found that when you know someone's favorite colors, the design just flows from those chosen for me at least. This particular person loves leopard prints. The "bugles" are actually copper tubes and the stones on the fringe are amethyst.
My neice Alisha received this bag for her birthday last year. She liked my blue bag (see below) and wanted something similar using hematite colored bugles.
These are called Oglala Sioux Butterfly Necklaces. I had purchased some of the new deep, deep blue-violet matte seeds along with two other shades of blue violet and then found the perfectly wonderful Miyuki cubes on ebay to go with them.
Here's three variations of the same necklace that I have made for friends.
This is my first non-kit creation. I wanted to portray something that looked as chilly as ice to wear in our hot Utah summers. The fringe accents are hematite cubes and I used furnace glass as accents on the necklace.
This one was a birthday present for my Mother-In-Law, Carolyn, who picked untypical colors for her, but it was the Christmas season, so it makes sense!
I don't usually name things, but this one is "Napoleon". I started to make myself a bag to wear for the Holiday season. It evolved into a super rich looking burgundy and gold number. The seeds have a purple luster, so I used some really pretty purple luster accents on the necklace and it was the perfect place to use the long twisted gold bugles to go with the fleur-de-lis pattern and swirl flourish on the flap made with metallic gold seeds.
I do love to bead and will do commissions! I have done them for cash and also will be willing to talk trades for your creations or wares. Let's talk.
